“From €zero to €profit”

On Fri, 4 Mar 2016, 13:31, I began to map out the development of B.B. Home Interiors with the M.D.

B.B. had no website and the showrooms where in need of a complete revamp. The plan to begin the renovation of the showroom was January/February 2019. I began the branding immediately.  By 2021 the task was complete.

Taking a company from zero to profit is no easy feat, but with dedication, innovation, and strategic planning, it can be achieved. This is exactly what happened when I took B.B. Home Interiors from a struggling business to a profitable online venture. With a “Free Hand”, and the M. D. I led the charge in revamping our approach to attract a new wave of customers and increase revenue.

One of the key strategies we implemented was the development of a new eCommerce website. By investing in a user-friendly and visually appealing online platform, we were able to reach a wider audience and provide our customers with a convenient way to shop for home interiors. With an emphasis on quality products and excellent customer service, we were able to build a loyal customer base and increase sales.

In addition to our online presence, we also focused on revamping our showrooms to create inviting and immersive experiences for our customers. By showcasing our products in a visually appealing manner and offering personalised design consultations, we were able to attract more foot traffic and drive sales both in-store and online.

Throughout this process, we made sure to prioritise effective communication and transparency within our team. By keeping everyone aligned with our goals and strategies, we were able to work cohesively towards our common objective of turning B.B. Home Interiors into a profitable venture.

This journey was not without its challenges, but through perseverance and foresight, we were able to overcome obstacles and achieve our desired results. Today, B.B. Home Interiors stands as a testament to the power of strategic planning and innovation in the world of home decor and design.

In conclusion, taking B.B. Home Interiors from zero to profit required a combination of vision, hard work, and adaptability. By leveraging the potential of e-commerce and revamping our physical spaces, we were able to transform the company into a thriving business. This experience has provided valuable insights into the world of online retail and serves as a testament to the potential for growth and success with the right approach.

In my role as Media Manager at Better Bedding, I was tasked with (solely) the development of a brand new eCommerce website. This exciting project involved implementing a PrestShop eCommerce platform, establishing stock control systems, and setting up the financial back-end for seamless transactions. We used SiteGround to host the website.

I uploaded hundreds of product images, product information and price, making sure that the on-line discount, was in tandem with our monthly/seasonal sale adverts and Facebook advertising.

I added variants to a product that had more than one option, such as size or color. Each combination of option values for a product can be a variant of that product. I could adjust the pricing, inventory, and shipping settings for the product from the product details page created.

One of the key responsibilities I had was to ensure that the website was user-friendly and visually appealing, while also being functional and easy to navigate for customers. Working solely, I created a website that not only showcased our products effectively but also provided a smooth and enjoyable shopping experience for our customers.

In addition to the website build, I also played a crucial role in implementing/monitoring the necessary back-end systems to ensure that the business could efficiently manage inventory, process orders, and handle financial transactions. This required a thorough understanding of eCommerce platforms and financial software (Stripe), as well as a keen attention to detail to ensure that everything ran smoothly and efficiently.

Another key aspect of the job was to design and create monthly newsletters using Mailchimp, a popular email marketing platform. These newsletters were an essential tool for us to connect with our subscribed customer base and keep them up to date with the latest news and offers. In addition to providing information about new products or services, the newsletters also included special deals and discounts that were exclusive to our subscribers.

Overall, my experience as a Media Manager at Better Bedding allowed me to gain valuable knowledge and expertise in the development and management of eCommerce websites. I am proud to have played a significant role in the successful launch of the new website and the continued growth of our online sales. This project has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the importance of a strong online presence and the essential components needed for a successful eCommerce platform.
